In 2009, after spending "thousands of dollars" with out of town Guru's, Steve Streetman found himself "frustrated" and at times confused about how to get going in real estate in his own back yard.
He knew he was a smart guy, so he knew that his lack of progress was not because of him, but had to do more with the information he was being provided at these "boot camps"!
...deterred not to quit, Steve took the one piece of advice that the out of town guru got right, "he searched out and found a (group of) local experts to assist him in learning the business from the ground up! Steve found out about the Realinvestors' Academy and immediately signed up for the Apprentice Program, where he Captained the team that looked like it would win the competition "hands down".
Unfortunately, the team hit a "speed bump" when their closing had to be rescheduled and instead of winning the competition, they came in SECOND. According to Steve, "Coming in second was actually the kick in the seat in the pants our group needed.
All the members of our 2009 Apprentice Team have stayed in touch and we have all gone on to bigger and better things, but it all started with that very first single family house deal"."BIGGER AND BETTER" is an understatement.
Within the past 3 years, Steve has closed on several million dollars worth of commercial real estate, including a $3.0 million self-storage facility (just north of Annapolis, MD) , a student housing project, a 20 acre tract of land and most recently, a $50 million line of credit on a portfolio of Assisted Living Facilities
....but again, it all started with one single family house deal in 2009!
