Please note that classes involving the use of firearms (Personal Protection 201 and Personal Protection 301) will be conducted by a third party company (I.C.E.Firearms & Defensive Training, LLC) and not by REALINVESTORS, LLC D.B.A. The Realinvestors®️ ACADEMY, LLC. These classes will be conducted at a private firearms dedicated facility. A separate waiver and application is required by the provider of these two (2) classes. They will NOT be conducted at a Realinvestors, LLC facility in Upper Marlboro, MD.

This course is an 8-Hour LIVE Class That Focuses On The Use of Firearms In the Defense of Your Home. It Fulfills the Maryland State Police Requirement To Obtain a Maryland HQL Permit.

This course is a 16-Hour LIVE Class. It Fulfills the Maryland State Police Requirement To Obtain a Maryland "Wear and Carry" Permit (required to carry a firearm in Maryland) as well as providing credentials for CCW in Washington, D.C., Virginia, and 40 other states.

Please note that Personal Protection 101: Refuse to Be a Victim is a 100% (On-Line) Instructor Lead, LIVE class. It DOES NOT involve the use of firearms. It HAS been APPROVED for 1.5 hours of CE credit by the Maryland Real Estate Commission (MREC);
Personal Protection 201: Defending Your Home and Personal Protection 301: Defending Yourself Outside Your Home are taught at a private state approved firearms facility. These classes will follow any State, County and Federal (CDC) guidelines for COVID-19 in class learning as are in effective at the time of instruction. As such, all participants may be required to complete a COVID-19 survey, may have their temperatures taken on the day of class, and may be required to wear a facemask as dictated by local mandates at the time of instruction. If there are any questions, or if you should decide not to persue one of the LIVE classes taught indoors, then a full refund will be issued prior to the start of the class. Students may bring their (unloaded) firearm to class, or can opt to have a firearm provided. Prior use or ownership of firearms is NOT REQURIED to participate in Personal Protection 201. A firearm and holster is highly recommended (but not required) for Personal Protection 301.

About Your Instructors
Sherman Ragland, CCIM is The Founder and Dean of the RealinvesrtorsⓇ Academy, LLC.
In addition to investing a life-time training and teaching people from all walks of life how to successfully become real estate investors, Sherman is a life-long shooter. He earned "Marksman Expert" Status at 12 years of age as a member of his National Capitol Area Boy Scout Troup. Ragland is the Pistol Chairman for a private gun club located in Bowie Maryland and member of it's Executive Committee.
Ragland is Maryland State Police (MSP) Certiifed HQL and "Wear and Carry" Instructor. An NRA Certified Instructor for Rifle, Basic Pistol, Shotgun, and Black Powder, and a Certified Instructor of NRA's award winning program "Refuse to Be a Victim!" which forms the basis for the Realinvestors Course on Personal Protection 101, and 201 classes.
The Realinvestors® Academy has obtained permission from the Maryland Real Estate Commission (MREC) to adopt the NRA "Refuse to Be a Victim!" class for an online (LIVE) instructor lead class with 1.5 hours of CE Credit for Maryland Licensed Real Estate Agents. This class is our Personal Protection 101 Class and does not involve the use of any firearms. Alternative personal protection devices are covered in this class.
The Personal Protection 201 Class is a firearms class and is taught in a one day 8 hour format at a private facility. Students will be instructed in the basics of firearms using the NRA Basic Pistol Shooting class as the core training, along with the required material for the Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL). The Maryland HQL is required by the state of Maryland before you can own, or possess a handgun in Maryland.
Personal Protection 201 (PP201) will include live fire and students will have the option of bringing their own firearm, or having one provided for the "live fire" portion of the class. No prior ownership or experience with firearms is required for PP201.
